【Ot-Channel】女神が籠もった伝説の洞穴のある神社：琉球八社 - 普天満宮

琉球八社シリーズの第4回目は、普天満宮です。宜野湾市で唯一の普天満宮は、首里桃原に現れた女神が普天満の洞窟に籠もったという言い伝えや、その洞窟に現れた仙人が「自分は熊野権現だ」と言ったという言い伝えのほか、中城の百姓夫婦や東恩納村に黄金を授けたなど多くの言い伝えの残る神社です。
そのため、古来より中山王や一般の人々が旧暦の9月に普天満参詣と言い、参拝に通ったと言われています。
また、戦時中に、ご神体を糸満に移し、戦後も、敷地がアメリカ軍に摂取されたことから、一時期、うるま市に仮の宮を作り、土地の返還を受け、昭和24年にようやく元の本殿に戻ることができた神社でもあります。
そんな琉球八社の中では、珍しい経緯を辿った、普天満宮を紹介します。

For this reason, it has been said that since ancient times, Chuzan kings and the general public went to worship in September of the lunar calendar.
Also, during the war, the body of God was moved to Itoman city, and after the war, the site was ingested by the U.S. Army, so a temporary palace was created in Uruma City for a time, and the land was returned. The shrine was able to return to the main shrine.
Among the eight Ryukyu shrines, we will introduce the Futenma Shrine, which has an unusual background.
