アマミキヨが沖縄を作った後、アマミキヨの連れてきた男女の神の子である天孫氏が収めていた沖縄は、日本の鎌倉や室町時代に当たる14世紀に、三山時代と言われる一種の戦国時代が約100年続きました。その間、それまでの各地で力を付けていた按司と呼ばれる豪族の中から近隣の按司を束ねる王が現れ、やがて北山・中山・南山の３つの国にわかれそのそれぞれ３つの国が琉球の統一を目指す動きが起こり始めました。
その中から、佐敷の按司であった尚巴志が、1429年にこれら3つの国を滅ぼし琉球王国へと統一し、その後明治時代までの間、第一尚氏７代40年・第二尚氏一族が19代410年の間統治していくことになります。
三山時代の頃からは、中国・明とも交易があり、尚巴志は中国はもとより日本、朝鮮、東南アジア諸国との外交・貿易を促進し、首里城をはじめとする首里の整備を行いました。政治顧問として中国人の懐機を重用するなど、斬新な施策を行った人物でもあります。
尚巴志は、39年4月20日死去。首里の天山陵に安葬されたといわれています。

【Rove in Okinawa】公設市場周辺の裏道その2 - Backstreet around the public market Part 2 [Rove&Drive in Okinawa]
沖縄・那覇の観光スポットの一つである牧志第1公設市場。戦後の闇市から1950年（昭和25年）に開設。その後、本土に復帰した1972年（昭和47年）に、現在の建物に改築されました。そのため老朽化が激しく、現在新しい建物に建て直しするため、近くのにぎわい広場に仮の建物を建設中で、2019年（平成31年）6月までは、現在の建物で、その後7月から仮の建物にて営業を始める予定です。新しい公設市場建物は、平成31年に現在の建物を取り壊し、その後平成32年・33年に建物を建設し、平成34年の営業開始を目指しています。それまでの間、工事の状況によっては、また建物の完成後には、周囲の様子も変わるかもしれません。
また公設市場やその近くのお土産物屋さんや食堂などへは行かれたことある方が多いかと思いますが、意外に知られていないのがその先のエリア。例えば、市場本通り商店街は、そのまままっすぐ道なりに歩くと新しくできた農連プラザまで行くことができます。
そこで現在の建物が残っている間に、公設市場周辺の商店街を次の5回に分けて、端から端まで歩いて紹介します。
第1回は、市場本通り商店街から市場中央通り商店街・新天地市場本通り商店街・太平通り商店街を通って農連プラザまで
第2回は、平和通り商店街からサンライズ那覇商店街を通って開南バス停まで
第3回は、むつみ橋筋商店街からえびす通り商店街を通って壺屋うふシーサーまで
第4回と第5回は、第3回までに通れなかった裏道を2回に分けて紹介します。
Makishi first public market which is one of tourist attractions of Naha city, Okinawa Prefecture.
It was established in 1950 from the post-war black market.
After that, in 1972 when returning to the mainland, it was renovated into the current building. For that reason, aging is intense and we are currently constructing a temporary building in the nearby Nigiwai Park to rebuild it into a new building.
Until June 2019, it will continue to operate in the current building. And it is planning to start business in temporary building from July.
Demolished the current building in 2019, then built a building in 2020 and 2021, aiming to start business in 2022.
In the meantime, the circumstances may also change due to the construction situation and completion of new buildings.
Also, many people go to public sectors and souvenir shops near the public market, diners etc, but it is the area that is not known unexpectedly.
For example, Ichiba-Hondori shopping street, you can go straight to the farmer's plaza you can walk as you walk along the road straight.
So while the current building remains, I will introduce the shopping district around the public market in the next 5 walks from end to end.

The second time, from Heiwa-Dori shopping street through SUNRISE Naha shopping street to Kainan bus stop
The third time, from Mutsumi Bashi Suji shopping street through Ebisu-Dori shopping street to Tsuboya Ufu Shisa
